Supporting all Pathways to Recovery IGNITE208 | Boise, ID
While addiction ravages the lives of individuals and their families in our community and throughout our country, there is a local group of individuals who have chosen to stand up, bring awareness and do everything in their power to provide a sober culture to their community. This group is called IGNITE208 – Social, Active, Recovery.
Their mission is to provide a safe sober environment for social activities to those newly sober or established in a recovery life style.
- Social: A Safe Sober Community of Like Minded People (Mind)
- Active: Engaging People in Activities of Fitness, Service, and Creativity (Body)
- Recovery: Joining Other in Habits of Passionate Healthy Living that Restore (Soul)
**IGNITE208 is not a 12-Step program but supports all pathways to recovery.
***THE ONLY REQUIREMENT IS THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 48 HOURS SOBER.
Through a variety of active events, IGNITE208 gives individuals and their extended family opportunities to take part in activities ranging from hiking, biking, group fitness, bowling, dances, BSU tailgating, yoga, meditation, and group crafts. In addition,
IGNITE208 gives participants opportunities to engage in group service projects that benefit our community and other local non-profits. This is vitally necessary to the success of participants.
IGNITE208 collaborated with other community partners to produce the Idaho Faces of Recovery event on 09/03/2016 to bring awareness of National Recovery Month to Idaho. This celebration included an assembly at the Idaho State Capital where State and local officials addressed addiction in Idaho, followed by a march down Capital Blvd to Ann Morrison Park where IGNITE208 hosted #SOBERUPBOISE. This event was an afternoon filled with local food, venders, musicians, and family members who paid tribute to “The Lost Ones” through words of remembrance and song. This event was sponsored in part by Western Trailers, Shop Strange and many other local community partnerships. It was featured in the Idaho Statesman and by KTVB channel 7.
On September 16, 2017, IGNITE208 will host 2017 Idaho Faces of Recovery – Idaho’s 2nd Annual Recovery Celebration. The Celebration will include a live concert of local bands on #SOBERUPBOISE main stage, Tribute to those lost and success’s in recovery, food, exhibits, contest and prizes and lots of family friendly fun. The purpose of the Recovery Celebration is to advocate for individuals who are initiating or maintaining recovery from substance abuse. It will showcase the strength, resilience and success of those who bravely overcome these barriers and have become successful and productive members of our community.
Proceeds from this event will allow our organization to continue providing free peer-based recovery support services and recovery-oriented social and fitness events.
